Hey all,

Ben here. Thought I would give everyone a little insight on what we have been up to. The other day we bought our one-way plane tickets out to San Francisco. May 28th! Now we have a real date of departure for this adventure, and it is coming up very quickly. We will be staying in San Francisco for a night or two to get settled and all of our gear prepared and then beginning our ride on the last day of May.

We also made a final decision on our route; we will begin in San Francisco and pretty much make a straight shot across the US. Check out “Our Route” that we posted below. The plan is to also stop at hospitals and oncology centers along the way to visit with cancer patients. Additionally, we’ll send ahead our press kit to local news outlets along the way. This way when we ride into town we will receive some extra publicity and be able to gain additional support for our cause. The ride will take us through California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts. Hmmm… It took a fair bit of effort just to type all those states out. I better go for a training ride this afternoon.

Speaking of training, we just got our trailers and are planning on bolting them up and taking them for a few long rides. Hopefully it won’t be a shocking difference in difficulty with the extra weight. I’ll let everyone know how it goes after my first ride with one.

Also, check back in on the blog for more updates as May 28th approaches! Before we leave we plan to have more photos, a few more posts and maybe even “Pan-USA-Challenge” t-shirts and fundraising wristbands!

Again, please feel free to share our fundraising adventure with friends, family and colleagues – the more support the better!
